ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- One non-profit group known as Positively Pink Packages is made up of volunteers who make care packages for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. The packages consist of items including CDs, books, and pillows, and are made up and delivered to local hospitals.
You can donate some time or funding to help make more packages a reality.
There are also about 20 restaurants in the Syracuse area that are selling a specialty dessert in order to raise funds for the cause. This month you can purchase a dessert during the Baking for Breast Cancer campaign and the proceeds will go to help provide packages in Onondaga, Madison, and Cayuga Counties.
"I think that our goal is ensuring that no one faces breast cancer alone, and also I think what we do a great job of taking the best resources, putting them in the package, but also what I think we also do well is we provide hope," said Jennifer Tom, executive director of Positively Pink Packages.
All donations made toward Positively Pink Packages are tax deductible.
If you'd like to help put together packages or make a donation you can call 315-278-0645 or visit www.PositivelyPinkPackages.org.
