SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- If you ever feel like you have a case of the Mondays, Syracuse University may have just what you need.

The University has joined a national movement to improve the health and well-being of those on campus and across Central New York. It's all based on an idea created by former ad executive and SU alum Sid Lerner.

The Monday campaign is designed to fight preventable diseases and make communities healthier. SU implemented it this semester, featuring "Move It Monday" and "Meatless Monday." So why did they pick that day?

"The Monday campaigns are predicated on the notion that Monday is kind of like the January of your week, the beginning of every week. It's a day to set intentions, it's a day to think about doing something more healthier something good for yourself and the Monday Campaign really jumps off of that notion," said SU Learner Center Director Thomas Dennison.

The Monday Campaign is running in 21 different countries.
