FULTON, N.Y. -- Hundreds attend calling hours for the Phoenix football player who died last Friday. People lined the street to pay their respects to 16-year-old Ridge Barden.

The teen died from a massive head injury during a football game in Homer Friday night. He was a junior defensive lineman on the varsity football team.

Police say during the third quarter of the game, there was a collision which caused Barden to drop to the ground. He was taken to the hospital where he later died from the injury.

Funeral services are being held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fulton.
