CHENANGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Chenango County Sheriff's Office and state police make an arrest in a robbery and assault case. Investigators say it happened Monday on West Street in the hamlet of South New Berlin.

They say the victim was beaten in the head and face in a vicious attack. Police say the suspect stole the victim's wallet and took off.

Steven Baker, 29, of Mount Upton New York was later arrested and charged with robbery, grand larceny, assault and petit larceny.
