CENTRAL NEW YORK -- The Veterans Parade has taken place over the last few years in downtown Syracuse. Now, the parade will take place at the fairgrounds and will be complemented by a large expo in the Center of Progress Building.

State Assemblyman Bill Magnarelli is sponsoring this year’s events. The event is free and Magnarelli says about 90 veteran and active military groups will participate in the parade. The expo will feature activities, displays, and informational exhibits for veterans. The Assemblyman says that you don't necessarily have to be a veteran to enjoy the event.

"We're going to get a good chance to see all of these organizations and all of the marching bands and all of the equipment…very exciting. Bring the family. The children will love it. There's a million different things to do at the expo. There's a ton of equipment to take a look at," said Magnarelli.

The expo will take place in the Center of Progress Building at the fairgrounds from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m and it is free. The parade will begin near the Indian Village at noon.
