Second arrest made in Chenango murder

BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- A second person has been arrested in last weekend's murder in the Town of Chenango. Thursday night, Broome County Sheriff deputies arrested Daniel Doherty, 21, of Binghamton.
Deputies say he acted as an accomplice to Joseph Ross-Jones in the murder Daniel Martinez, 27. A corrections officer discovered the body of Martinez near Wilson Road in the Town of Chenango Sunday morning.
Investigators say he had been shot and stabbed multiple times. Martinez was from the Bronx and it is unclear what he was doing in the area.
Doherty and Ross-Jones are both charged with second degree murder. The investigation into the murder is ongoing.
