Red Cross Real Heroes honored

It's an opportunity for everyday people to be recognized for their extraordinary service in the community. The 13th annual American Red Cross Real Heroes Breakfast takes place Wednesday morning at the Syracuse Oncenter. Brad Vivacqua is there with more.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The event at the Oncenter honors individuals in the community who have given themselves up for others. The American Red Cross of Central New York is giving out 12 awards to several different people for their acts of courage throughout this past year.

The Red Cross of Central New York hopes to raise about $200,000 from Wednesday’s event. Those proceeds will help the chapter supply services and training throughout the year.
