UTICA, N.Y. -- The man accused of murdering a six-year-old in Sherrill this summer will have his case heard early next year. An Oneida County judge set a February 6th trial date for alleged killer David Trebilcock.

Trebilcock is accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend's daughter, Lauren Belius, back in July. Attorneys for Trebilcock have said their client claims Jesus told him to commit the crime.

Final psychiatric reports are yet to be complete for Trebilcock, but the case is moving forward since prosecutors don't anticipate accepting a not guilty plea by reason of mental illness.

Trebilcock faces a number of charges, including second degree murder.
