SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- In front of a crowd of more than 25,000 people, the S.U. men's basketball team beat out Marquette. The last team to beat them last season
Revenge never felt so sweet.
"Aww man, it feels good to get back at them. They sent us home way early and you know, it feels good to get them back. They beat us, so we gotta return the favor," said Tim Best.
Last season Marquette beat S.U. 66 to 62 in the third round of the NCAA tournament and sent the team home before fans were ready to call it a season. The Orange faithful say this year's team is different and they're poised to go all the way.
"They're really a veteran team. Jimmy Boeheim is just doing a fabulous job as usual. Kids, the players are sticking together real tight. They're focused. they're really prepared and they're ready to go," said David Flaum.
From the littlest fans to those who have been die-hards for years, they're all routing for the Orange to end up in New Orleans.
S.U.'s next game is this Wednesday at Villanova.
