NILES, N.Y. -- Fire destroyed the highway garage in the Cayuga County town of Niles. Crews were called to the garage on New Hope Road at about 10:30 p.m. Friday.

The garage, as well as two plow trucks, a bucket loader and a smaller truck were all destroyed.

The town supervisor says the town has good insurance, but it will take some time to rebuild. In the meantime, they're getting some help from their neighbors.

"The Town of Moravia, the Town of Sempronius have lent us equipment. Cayuga County has lent us a front end loader, so we've had some good help. All these towns work together very well," Niles Town Supervisor Rick Slagle said.

No one was injured and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
