ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- If you're looking for something to do this weekend and at the same time you'd like to help a few charities, then the Village of Baldwinsville is the place for you. Money raised during this weekend’s festivities will help the local chamber, the Ronald McDonald House of Central New York, and the Central New York Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
It all gets started tonight with the Wine, Cheese, Chocolate and More event at 7 p.m. at the Red Mill Inn. You can sample local products and enjoy music for a donation of $30. Tomorrow, the Best in Bowl competition takes place along and the popular Polar Bear Plunge. You can brave the cold temperatures for some great charities by daring to take a dip into the Seneca River.
Of course, you're welcome to just watch and enjoy activities for the kids with some great food and fun.
"It's really about the community coming together to do something together this winter, when it’s a time when everyone just wants to bunker down and be in their house, by the fire, watching TV, but we encourage people to just come out and have fun with the family," said Cristina Jardine, Big Chill co-chair.
Jardine says a number of local businesses have stepped up to the plate to make this fifth annual Big Chill possible.
Tonight's wine event at the Red Mill Inn will begin at 7 p.m., while the events at Mercer Park tomorrow will begin at 12 p.m.
