SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It's a battle between the Syracuse Police Chief and the Onondaga County District Attorney.
In a recent Post-Standard article, Onondaga County DA Bill Fitzpatrick accused the Syracuse Police Department of misleading the public in high-profile cases and delaying turning over ballistics evidence to the crime lab.
Police Chief Frank Fowler says he doesn't know where Fitzpatrick got his information from, but it wasn't from the Syracuse Police Department.
Fowler says he's given accurate accounts of all information and has followed all SPD procedures and wants the dispute put to rest.
"We both can well do without this. The public can well do without this. This is behavior that I would love to see stopped, but I'm not the one initiating this. I can still do my job, despite it, but I'd rather see it stopped," Fowler said.
