UTICA, N.Y. -- Anthony Garner turned 24 less than half an hour before he was gunned down on a Utica street last May. Monday, the trial for the man accused of pulling the trigger got underway in Oneida County Court.
Marshall Jackson has been charged with second degree murder in Garner's death. The prosecution told jurors they'll see surveillance video that shows three men chase Garner down James Street in the early morning hours of May 25 and one of those men, Jackson, can been seen shooting Garner in the head and side.
Testimony also began with an emergency room doctor saying the gunshot to the head was the most serious wound that lead to Garner's death.
Jackson is also charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property
