ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Whitesboro man was hospitalized after being hit by a car in New Hartford. It happened around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Lowe's parking lot on Middle Settlement Road.

Police say Firooz Tabrizi, 79, was pushing a shopping cart through the parking lot when he was struck by a vehicle. Tabrizi was taken to Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica for head and leg injuries. He is currently being treated in the intensive care unit.

Police say the driver of the vehicle has not been charged but that the accident remains under investigation.
