SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The City of Syracuse took advantage of the warm weather on Wednesday by filling potholes throughout the city.

Four trucks were sent out on Wednesday to various areas of the city with cold patch, which is used to fill the potholes until they can be properly filled with hot asphalt mix in the spring.

The milder winter has also lead to fewer potholes in the area, which allows the DPW to fix the most problematic ones first.

"Well, what we do is generally work by the complaints that people call in and once we complete the complaints, we'll go into the main roads and the neighborhoods and track it that way and keep up on everything the best we can," said Richard DeMarzo, Superintendent of Street Repair.

DPW officials hope the warm weather sticks around so they can continue patching the holes as needed.
