ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- It may not be the worst winter Central New York has seen, but more than 100 runners shook off the winter blues in Baldwinsville.
The seventh annual Mid-Winter Blues run was held at the Beaver Lake Nature Center in Baldwinsville Sunday morning.
The 5-k run took participants from the park to the surrounding roads and back again. And despite the name, organizers said the recent mild weather is good news for them.
Meg Valovage, run organizer said, “We're seeing bigger numbers this year, and I think that's because it's a little bit milder. This, in terms of our race, is a little bit warmer year. We've had years where the windchills have been below zero, so, this is really comfortable."
