SYRACUSE, N.Y. – An annual winter tradition returns to Syracuse next week. Syracuse Winterfest runs February 15th through the 26th and includes events in and around the City of Syracuse.
Some of the favorites include the annual Kids Karnival, Wing Walk, and chili and chowder cook offs. Organizers say the event is a great way to attract visitors to the area, help the local economy, and allow guests to have fun both in and outdoors.
"I think we've calculated about a $2 million revenue for the different establishments. You're talking about all the restaurants, the taverns, all the other events. The other thing to know about Winterfest, in twelve days we're producing 200 events. That's 200 events in twelve days so just think about the traffic in and out," said Bill Cooper, Syracuse Winterfest president.
There will be a new fireworks display over the Inner Harbor this year. That will take place on Friday, February 17th.
