WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- A Florida company hired to take down some old barracks on Fort Drum has decided to donate a lot of the furniture inside them to Watertown's Urban Mission.

All Phase Services has been delivering things like dressers, desks and bunk beds to the mission for several weeks now and there are still several loads to go.

The company actually had the option to keep all of the items and sell them, but decided it wanted to give back to the Fort Drum community.

The Urban Mission says these items in particular are not only appreciated, but very much needed.

"It obviously brings a lot more revenue and also when we work with the homeless and work with people in need, the furniture is the thing that seems to be the most looked after," said Erika Flint, Urban Mission Executive Director.

"It would be more beneficial and more a prudent decision to go forward and find a new home for them. That's what we did here with the Watertown Urban Mission. We found a good home for salvageable items that will be put to good use," said Jim Martin Jr. of All Phase Services.

The Urban Mission says the many of the items it's received from All Phase Services have been sold in less than a day.
