SUNY ESF to receive funding for sustainable programs

By: Web Staff

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The research foundation at SUNY's College of Environmental Science and Forestry will receive more than a million dollars in funding.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced the $1.3 million in funding for the school.

The money will be used to train and educate students and workers in sustainable materials and manufacturing. It will also go toward the college's creation and initiation of the radiation curing of resins.

Gillibrand helped secure the money, appealing to the Department of Labor in December in hopes that it would help increase the productivity and global competitiveness of the current manufacturing workforce in New York.
