CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. -- The General Manager of First Arena and the Elmira Jackals has been fired.

A spokesperson for the Jackals confirmed Robbie Nichols was let go Thursday. Several officials were on hand at the arena Thursday morning to discuss the First Arena foreclosure situation.

The police were called to the meeting as a peace-keeping precaution during the foreclosure talks but there was no incident and contrary to other reports, Nichols was not escorted out of the building.

No further details have been released at this time. But we have reached out to the team owner and Robbie Nichols for comment.
