WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Dozens packed the gym at JCC Sunday afternoon working to get fit and raise awareness.
A Zumba Fundraiser was held for the American Heart Association and JCC's Heart Walk team. Instructors helped community members of all ages and fitness levels move to the beats, helping keep their heart healthy.
More Americans die from Heart Disease each year than from anything else. Organizers say that's just one of the reasons they're passionate about getting the word out there and helping support fitness and heart research.
Jefferson Community College Business Instructor Dawn Robinson said, "It's so important to raise awareness so we can give money to research to get better at being healthier, living a healthier life and staying active."
All money raised from Sunday's benefit will go directly to the American Heart Association.
Those looking to help this cause can sign up for the North Country Heart walk coming up April 28th.
