SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A Syracuse man accused of murdering his father last year is indicted by a grand jury. Herman Tolbert, Jr., 23, turned himself in shortly after the incident last August.
Authorities said Tolbert, Jr. forced his way into his parent's home in the Town of Clay, got into a fight with his father, and stabbed him.
Herman Tolbert, 68, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect also stole his father’s car, which led detectives to believe he was the one responsible.
The grand jury indictment charges Tolbert, Jr. with two counts of murder in the second degree, as well as burglary, criminal possession of a weapon, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
