TULLY, N.Y. -- Students and teachers learned the fate of the Tully School District as the superintendent presented the tentative 2012-2013 budget Monday night.
The budget calls for a 5.29 percent tax increase and seven positions cuts. Three will be through layoffs.
The proposal also cuts the golf team and modified track and reduces the number of teams for lacrosse, soccer, basketball and volleyball.
Under the plan, taxpayers will get to vote on several propositions, including whether to maintain cheerleading, indoor track, the environmental club and staffing the fitness center for community use.
The superintendent says the proposal does not yet include the $153,000 increase in state aid or current contract negotiations.
