CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. -- The owners of First Arena will be in court next week as the saga surrounding the hockey rink continues to unfold.
Back in February, Chemung County foreclosed on the arena because of unpaid taxes. Ownership has since requested permission to repurchase the facility, but that process was tabled.
The Supreme Court is getting involved now that the Afr family, who operates First Arena, has filed lawsuits against the county and former GM Robbie Nichols and his partner Donald Lewis.
The case will be heard in Supreme Court in Chemung County on Monday morning.
