STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Steuben County man has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.

Bert Tohafjian, 31, of Tuscarora, faces charges of possession of child pornography.

The incident stems from an undercover siege in an online peer-to-peer file sharing program. Authorities say Tohafjian had more than 600 images of child pornography, which depicted children under the age of 12 and depictions of violence. He could face a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000 or both.

Sentencing is scheduled for a later date.
