SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police are appealing to the public to find three suspects in a double shooting on the city's west side.

Police say the men, armed with handguns, went into a home at 125 Van Renssalear Street Monday evening and attempted to rob the people in the second floor apartment.

Josh Hinton, 24, was shot in the abdomen and is in critical condition.

Jacquelin Palmer, 22, was shot in the neck and shoulder area and is now in stable condition.

Police say the incident is likely drug related.

"Our investigation has revealed that we believe there may have been some type of either drug dealing or drug storage going on at that address at the upstairs apartment. And we believe the suspects came in there to rob these people and as a result of that robbery, they ended up shooting these two individuals," said Syracuse Police Sergeant Tom Connellan.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Syracuse Police at (315) 442-5222.
