Cuomo vetoes funding for local programs
NEW YORK STATE -- Governor Cuomo's new round of line item vetoes in the state budget are affecting a series of local programs across New York.
Cuomo has cut about $640,000 in so-called "member items," spending items included by state legislators in the budget package.
The Governor dipped into expenditures under the office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation to eliminate two payments to Historic Ithaca of $7,000 and $11,000, respectively.
Also among his cuts were $7,500 for the Central New York Arts Foundation and $2,500 for the Central New York Jazz Arts Foundation.
Cuomo had warned lawmakers not to place new member items in this year's spending plan.
