ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. -- A six-year-old girl from Canton was critically injured in a crash in North Carolina. Natalie Teriele was riding in a van with other members of her family in Atlantic Beach when a boat being towed by a truck broke free and crashed into the van.

She was airlifted to a local hospital where family members said she's in critical but stable condition. Six other family members were in the van at the time, but none of them were seriously injured.

Investigators said it appears the boat trailer was not secured properly and charges against the driver are pending.
