HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A man has died following a car crash in Herkimer County.

State Troopers say Edward Ostrander, 41, of Richfield Springs, was driving on State Route 28 in Jordanville when he crossed the road, went down a 200 foot embankment and hit a tree.

Ostrander was taken to Basset Hospital in Cooperstown, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash.
