Rangers take series lead thanks to Lundqvist's shutout

By: YNN Staff

OTTAWA, CANADA -- Henrik Lundqvist made 39 saves and Brian Boyle scored for the third straight game to lift the Rangers to a 1-0 victory over the Senators Monday night and give them a 2-1 series lead.

The Rangers' goalie made big saves all night, but none bigger than a point-blank stop on Kyle Turris in the last minute of the game.

It was the fourth career playoff shutout for Lundqvist, who outdueled Ottawa's Craig Anderson.

Rangers rookie Carl Hagelin served the first game of a three-game suspension he received Monday morning for a hit on Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson during Saturday night's game at Madison Square Garden.

Hagelin apologized Sunday after a telephone hearing with NHL officials. Alfredsson did not play in last night's game. Game four is scheduled for Wednesday night in Ottawa.
