OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- One person has been hospitalized following a crash in Oswego County. It happened on Route 48 in Granby around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday when a car drove into an oncoming tractor-trailer.

The driver of the car was flown to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. There is no word yet on how bad the injuries are.

Shortly after that first crash, another vehicle swerved to avoid the first crash and hit a Sheriff's patrol car that was in the area. No one was hurt in that crash, and the deputy was able to ensure a quick response to the first crash.

"The fact that we had a deputy about as close as you can get, was right there to immediately call the situation in and get emergency services to respond and then rendered what aid he could to the involved persons," said Oswego County Undersheriff Gene Sullivan.

Authorities are still investigating what caused the crash.

Route 48 remains closed between Wilcox Road and Route 46.
