CAMILLUS, N.Y. - Locked in a battle with Oswego on Thursday, the West Genesee boys lacrosse team closed the game on a 4-0 run to win 7-3, giving head coach Mike Messere a new state (and presumed national) boys lacrosse record with 748 career victories.
Matt Schattner had a hat trick, Ryan Barber added two goals and five assists, and Scott Sidnam made 13 saves to lead the Wildcats, who improve to 7-0.
Dom Cianfarano had two goals and Joe Ruggio made 12 saves for Oswego, which drops to 5-3.
