SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- One firefighter is injured while battling a basement fire in the city of Syracuse.

A report came in last night of an appliance fire at a home on Seneca Street. By the time firefighters arrived, the fire had spread throughout the basement.

It took about half an hour to contain the flames. The firefighter who was hurt, was treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
