ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Binghamton native Jerry D'Amigo helped the Toronto Marlies finish off a first-round sweep of the Rochester Americans Monday night, scoring a second-period goal in the Marlies' 3-0 victory.
D'Amigo finished the three-game series with six points on five goals and one assist and leads all AHL playoff skaters in points in his first Calder Cup Playoffs.
D'Amigo only scored 41 points in 76 games this season but has caught fire in the postseason.
The second-seed Marlies await the winner of Houston/Oklahoma City in round two.
