SCHUYLER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Schuyler County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in connection with the murder of a man Friday night in the town of Dix. Nathan Hand, 25, of Corning is charged with second degree murder. Hand was arraigned in the Town of Dix Court and sent to the Schuyler County Jail without bail.

The arrest comes after Daniel Bennett, 31, was shot and killed in his Pearl Street home on Friday night. Bennett was found by his father who was woken up by the sound of a gunshot and found his son dead.

Hand's step brother, Thomas Borden, 32, of Corning, was also wanted for questioning in the crime. Authorities caught up with Borden outside of Philadelphia, but he ran from detectives, jumped in front of a commuter train, and died from his injuries.

We expect to learn more as the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office has scheduled a news conference for Tuesday afternoon. Stay with YNN for the latest details.
