SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Members of the Central New York Regional Economic Development Council are discussing cleaner and greener plans for the region. The group held a meeting Tuesday to discuss their strategic plan.

In attendance was Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy, who says the Central New York council is one of the top four in the state.

Duffy, who attends most of the council meetings, says the different groups are providing valuable suggestions for how the state can be more customer focused and more open for new business.

"It's exciting when you go around the state to see the passion, the dedication that people have. And you're seeing, I think, the beginning of just an incredible momentum for economic development around the state that's being driven from the ground up," Duffy said.

Although the details of their plan are not yet being released, the council will give a presentation to the public next week at the Center of Progress building.
