MEXICO, N.Y. -- Authorities are now saying unsafe speed played a role in a crash Tuesday night in the Town of Mexico.

Deputies said Joshua France, 19, of Oswego was driving northeast on Tubbs Road when his SUV went off the road and crashed into a tree.

France and his passenger, Christopher Gaudet, 19, were both taken to Upstate Medical Center. There is no word yet on their conditions.
