OSWEGO, N.Y. -- With Oswego Harborfest just three months away, officials have announced this year's headlining acts, including the main event, a concert by singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins.
Loggins is best known for his soft rock music made popular in the 70s and later for his movie soundtrack work. His songs have appeared in many films including “Footloose,” “Top Gun” and “Caddyshack.”
The festival will also feature several tribute bands, performing songs by Billy Joel, Dave Matthews Band and Jimmy Buffett.
Organizers say the goal is to entertain a wide variety of musical interests, while promoting a family-friendly atmosphere.
"We look at different age groups. Sometimes we get artists that are on their way up, sometimes we'll get artists that have been established for a long time. Once you narrow down groups that the sponsor is comfortable with and will fit with the venue at Breitbeck Park at Harborfest, then you look at their availability," said Steve Pryor, Harborfest Sponsorship Coordinator.
In addition to music, this year's events will feature the reenactment of the 1814 battle for Fort Ontario and children's activities in West Park.
The festival runs from July 26th through the 29th.
