ONEIDA, N.Y. -- Work is underway on the nearly $2 million pavement rehab project on Route 5 in Oneida and it served as a backdrop Thursday to remind motorists to be safe and cautious as the construction season kicks into high gear.
This week is National Work Zone Safety Week and this year's theme is "Don't Barrel Through Work Zones! Drive Smart to Arrive Alive."
Officials are also reminding people about the Move Over Law, which requires drivers to slow down and change lanes when approaching vehicles with flashing amber lights, including construction vehicles.
