SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Hundreds of people got a chance to taste some of the area's finest food and drinks and it all raised money for a good cause.
Savor Syracuse is a gourmet tasting gala to benefit the Food Bank of Central New York. Guests enjoyed samplings from more than 40 restaurants, wineries and breweries.
Savor Syracuse helps raise money for the Food Bank's hunger-relief mission.
"The money that's raised actually goes back into the community. We have 273 emergency programs. It will help provide meals to those programs, so food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters," said Kathleen Stress, CNY Food Bank Chief Operation Officer.
Organizers expect the Savor Syracuse event to raise $40,000 for the Food Bank, enough to supply 92,000 meals to the community.
