SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It will be at least two weeks before a decision is made in the Jim Boeheim defamation lawsuit.

A judge heard arguments Friday afternoon from both sides as he determines whether or not to dismiss the lawsuit filed by Bobby Davis and Michael Lang. The two men have accused former SU assistant coach Bernie Fine of sexual abuse. They are suing Boeheim and the university, claiming Boeheim defamed them by calling them liars after they came forward with the abuse accusations back in November.

Lawyers for the coach and University say Davis and Lang are distorting Boeheim's statements by taking them out of context. They argue the comments made were not statements of fact, but opinion, and therefore protected under law.

The paperwork submitted is substantial and the judge does not expect to make a decision for at least two weeks.
