SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse men's lacrosse team's Big East tournament seeding is already set regardless of what happens in its regular-season finale, but the Orange would certainly gain a big measure of momentum if it can knock off Notre Dame on Saturday.
The Fighting Irish are ranked No. 3 in the country this week and have the stingiest defense in NCAA Division I, anchored by goalie John Kemp who allows a mere 5.2 goals per game.
Notre Dame will be the top seed in next week's conference tournament while Syracuse will be the No. 3 seed so pending the results of the semifinals it could be a preview of the championship game. Saturday's matchup is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and it will be televised on ESPNU.
