ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland - The Syracuse Crunch's first postseason appearance in four years ending up lasting only four games as St. John's clinched their best-of-5 Eastern Conference quarterfinals series with a 4-3 overtime win on Friday.

Syracuse blew leads of 2-0 and 3-2 as the IceCaps rallied back then ended it on a Derek Meech goal 5:01 into overtime.

Touted prospect Emerson Etem scored two goals for Syracuse and Iiro Tarkki made 34 saves.
