ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- TSA officers stopped explosives from getting onto a plane at Hancock International Airport. It happened last Thursday.
TSA officers spotted an unusual metal container with a suspicious substance inside a man's carry-on bag as he was passing through the checkpoint. Syracuse Police identified the substance as five ounces of black powder, which can be used to create an explosive device.
The substance was confiscated, but the passenger was allowed to continue on his flight to New York City.
