ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Elmira Police are investigating a shooting in the Lake Street area Monday morning. They were called to 923 Lake Street, where David Holmes, 36, told them he had been shot in the leg between East 5th and Standish streets. The injury is not considered life-threatening.

No arrest has been made, but police do not believe the shooting was a random incident.
