TOMPKINS, N.Y. -- It's Big Brother meets Animal Planet and it's a pretty cool way to spend some time, if you enjoy birds.

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology has a video camera trained on a nest of baby blue herons and it's being live streamed. So far, four chicks have hatched, with one more egg still left.

The director of the lab says the video is providing scientists with new insights into the behavior of great blue herons. The lab at Cornell also has a nestcam at a red-tailed hawk nest on campus as well.

To watch the birds on Cornell’s live stream visit www.livestream.com/cornellherons and www.livestream.com/cornellherons2 and for additional video clips of the birds hatching, watch these two Youtube videos: eggs hatching part 1 and eggs hatching part 2.
