TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Ithaca man accused of murder heads to court. Attorneys began jury selection on Monday for the trial of Corbin Whyte.

Whyte is accused of shooting Paul Garcia, 47, in the chest, and then robbing him. The shooting happened at the Maple Hill Apartments in 2010.

Police found Garcia's body in the parking lot of the apartment complex around 2 a.m. on December 7th. A witness told police the two men had been fighting over drugs and a relationship with a woman before the shooting.

Garcia had been living in New York City at the time, but previously lived in Ithaca.

Attorneys spent all of Monday questioning potential jurors. The trial is expected to last two to four weeks.
