SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Occupy Syracuse is back, at least for a day. The group is marking May Day with protests challenging U.S. corporations, on behalf of what they claim is the 99 percent of Americans not sharing in the country's prosperity.

The group has not been as vocal as it had been when the initial Occupy demonstrations began in late 2011. Many members have drifted away, but remaining protesters say the movement goes on.

“We're still here. We're not going to give up. Workers have rights too and that's what today's really all about,” said Anthony DeFrank, Occupy protester.

The group is planning marches on some local companies to mark the day.
