Police warn of new phone scam

BRADFORD COUNTY, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police want you to know about a new phone scam making the rounds. They said someone has been calling homeowners in Bradford County, pretending to be from Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes. They would then tell potential victims that they are a winner -- but to receive the winnings, they must make a money transfer.

Police said you should never pay money to get winnings, and that this is obviously a scam. The company does not contact sweepstakes participants by phone for any reason.
