ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- It has been two years since hydro-racing events were last held on Onondaga Lake. Now, the competition is returning.

The American-Canadian Hydroplane Association will stage the two day event on Father's Day weekend in June. For those involved in the sport, it is a welcome stop on the tour.

“Syracuse is kind of in the middle of the Northeast here. So we have a lot of boat racers and vintage collectors that are on both sides. They're in the New England area. They're out in Ohio, New York State. And it's kind of a nice central location,” said Bill Fisk, Vintage Hydroplane owner.

In addition to racing, the weekend event will also include musical concerts, a shopping village and food. The event takes place in Willow Bay at Onondaga Lake Park.
